Production Operative – Deeside Flexishifts

Who are we?

We are Calbee Deeside, part of Calbee Group UK which includes Seabrook Crisps, Harvest Snaps, and private label brands. The business is backed by its Japanese parent company Calbee Inc who have a long and impressive history in the snacking market. Our business is strong, and we have remained in production throughout the pandemic. We are focussed on our growth plans for 2022 and as such we are looking for Part-Time Production Operatives to join the team at our Deeside Factory.

The role will initially be 8-hours per week which will consist of a Monday 8am-4pm shift – with the opportunity for plenty of overtime, growth, and training for the right individual.

What we do at Deeside:

We manufacture extruded snacks that are baked and flavoured with various seasonings. We supply UK retailers, wholesale, and discounters.

The Role:

The role will be an 8-hour contract on a Fixed-Term (3-month) basis, with the scope for overtime that suits your schedule and plenty of growth for the right individual. We have full-time permanent roles available but are looking for candidates seeking part-time/flexible work or who are looking to get back in to work.

Within our factory we have automated, and part automated production lines and our Production Operatives are responsible for the:

• Efficient and accurate packing and labelling of products
• Maintaining work areas to safe, clean, and organised standards
• Continuously checking the quality of product/packaging, immediately highlighting any quality concerns to the line-manager
• Conduct daily/end of week cleans to exemplary standards
• Always follow all food hygiene standards, ensuring product safety, quality and integrity is achieved at all times

What we want from you:

• You should have a clean-as-you-go mindset with a natural drive to maintain high levels of health and safety for yourself and others
• Be presentable, with a good level of competence in English, both written and verbal
• You will need good levels of manual dexterity and be able to work on a continuous production line
• Holder of a Level 2 Certificate in Food Safety is desirable, but training will be given
• A background within a food manufacturing environment or FMCG business would be desirable
• Above all we are looking for individuals who have an enthusiastic and energetic approach to work and are willing to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in

What shift(s) will you work?

You will work a Monday shift from 8am-4pm, with the opportunity for overtime. The ideal candidate will be flexible in their approach to overtime as this will fluctuate from week to week.
